In the suburbs of Chicago, four best friends unexpectedly get the day off from school during the spring of 1999. In their search for the cure to adolescent boredom they end up coming across much more than they expected at their local wooded hangout "The Grove."

When eight friends get together to celebrate the new millennium, one of them takes the party's theme of death too far.
