Benjamim Zambraia is a young drunk who wanders around the city and is sometimes treated with pampering and sometimes with a beating by his parents (Helena Ignez and Otávio Terceiro). As in Chico's book, the boy is obsessed with a big stone.
Ricardo is 10 years old, lives in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul and has nightmares about Velho do Saco, sort of a Brazilian bogeyman, “who takes out the eyes of misbehaving children”. It is not easy to distinguish truths and lies when the loss of innocence is confused with the loss of sight.
Pedro and Rebeca are friends and study in Portugal. Rebeca is Brazilian and Pedro is Portuguese. During coexistence, the two young people deal with feelings of non-belonging, loneliness and long-distance relationships.
