In 2008, during the last month of summer before high school begins, an impressionable 13-year-old Taiwanese American boy learns what his family can't teach him: how to skate, how to flirt, and how to love your mom.
After the death of her partner Seb, Maddie tries to cope by opening her heart to a new love. She distracts herself from the memories of the past however, one day Seb returns. Conflicted with the reignited spark of their relationship she constructs a plan to give Seb his final farewell.
