Minsk, August 2020. Pasha and Yulia, a young married couple, leave the house at night and find themselves in the midst of peaceful protests. Everyday walk turns into a real hell, in which innocent people are victims of police brutality.
Olev Virkus is a completely ordinary man of no considerable wealth or achievements. Sometimes, however, he has to drop everything he's doing and go away for a while. Only then can he keep on living in peace. The film is based on the short story The King by Mehis Heinsaar.
For Anja, her new home in Germany is only a stopover. She would much rather go to America. She skips school and makes up gangster scenes with her little brother. Life is okay until she overhears a phone call from her mother.
