Selma has to go back to the small island where she grew up - a place she never really felt connected to. Being back Selma meets former friends and acquaintances and is unwillingly confronted with her past
Living ordinary lives in the small island municipality of Flaugstad, the fisherman Frank, his brother in law Magne and the smuggler Ronny is deeply affected by a ban on motorboats, and a corner stone factory in the island closes down.
